Rethinking global food security and sustainable agriculture: from Europe to the World

A keynote address on food security was delivered at FFA2015 by Ren Wang, Assistant Director General of Agriculture & Consumer Protection Department, FAO, who set out the major challenges facing producers and governments around the world. Mr Wang ended on an optimistic note “Hunger, food insecurity and malnutrition can all be ended sustainably,” he insisted. This will require a range of policies and effort. But all those “involved in food production and marketing will need to adopt new approaches if we want to succeed in feeding the world in the future.”
