Mónica Hernández-Morcillo is a Forestry Engineer holding a PhD on integrated landscape management. Currently managing the InnoForESt project at the University for Sustainable Development in Eberswalde, Berlín. She holds fifteen years of professional experience at the intersection of social-ecological systems, promoting successful governance innovations for sustainable resources management. She has field-level experience in the Peruvian Amazon, Brasil and Kenya, facilitating participatory processes to discern partnership solutions to environmental conflicts. Bridging field work level with global policy, Mónica worked for United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) in Cambridge, UK, assisting the CBD providing scientific and technical support on biodiversity and ecosystem services assessments.
