Ben has had a long and varied involvement in the New Zealand meat industry having been responsible for activities in Research and Development, Technical Policy, Environmental Policy, Market Access and Advocacy. Currently he manages interactions between the New Zealand Meat Board/Beef + Lamb New Zealand and European (including UK) farmer groups and regulators. He also has involvement on the International Meat Secretariat’s Sustainability and Animal Care Committees, the International Beef Alliance, the FAO Livestock Environmental Assessment and Performance Partnership (FAO) steering committee, the UECBV Footprint Category Rules Technical Committee and is overseeing Lifecycle Analysis work on sheepmeat and beef production in New Zealand.
