FFA2020 Coronavirus statement

Statement from the organisers of the Forum for the Future of Agriculture

The FFA partners have announced that the 2020 Forum for the Future of Agriculture, scheduled to take place at The Square, Brussels, on Tuesday, March 31 will be cancelled following the escalation of COVID-19 Coronavirus in Europe. This follows the announcement by the local authorities that events of 1,000 or more people cannot go ahead until after March 31.

The FFA organisers explained that the safety and wellbeing of our guests, speakers, staff and partners is their number one priority. It is therefore our responsibility to take into full consideration the latest developments concerning the worldwide spread of COVID-19 Coronavirus, including the World Health Organization's (WHO) recommendation that individuals "promote social distancing" and apply local regulations. The effects, actual and projected, of Coronavirus are becoming evident across all aspects of our lives across the world. With many of our participants, including speakers, facing potential travel restrictions we also do not want to reduce the high quality inputs and dialogue that FFA has become well known for. The decision has therefore been made to not go ahead with this year’s event.

We thank all those speakers, staff and others who have worked to deliver what promised to be another premier event.
